Digimon Boxes – The Facts Not The Fluff

Digimon is a popular Japanese children’s series of films and merchandise. They include anime, manga, toys, Video Games, trading cards and plush dolls. The name has been shorted but really stands for Digital Monsters yet they the series started out as digital pets. There has been a semi popular television series based on these popular digital monsters. The monsters inhabit the Digital World, which is an alternate universe that has evolved from the various communication networks of the world.

If you’re familiar with the Pokemon series then Digimon takes a very similar approach with the whole super powered animals theme. However the series was never able to reach such heights in popularity as the Pokemon series enjoyed.

The most popular merchandise includes Digimon video games and collectible cards both which come packaged in highly sought after cardboard boxes. The Digimon collectible card games are all published by a Japanese company, Bandai. An entire list of Digimon characters is available online if you’re interested, and most of these appear on the surface of the Digimon Limited Edition Collectors’ Box Set containing the complete Season One of the television series in DVDs.

The characters are designed in the true Manga style and appear on the boxes of the card games, video games as well as DVD sets. These Digimon boxes are usually made of cardboard, and use very bright colors. The Digimon trading Card Retail boxes usually include 24 packs of 6 cards, 1 silver foil card and one checklist. These boxes generally come with instructions in not only English but also Japanese parallel texts.

The Bandai Digimon Digivice Bootleg series comes in clear, plastic boxes so that the gaming devices can be clearly seen from the outside. Since Manga and Anime have caught on in big way in recent times, these products are doing very well in the market.
